Best Amazon Mattress (2025), Comfort Delivered to Your Doorstep 

When it comes to getting the most bang for your buck in a mattress, few options shine as bright as the Nectar Classic. The Nectar is my favorite mattress on Amazon right now, thanks to its solid performance across the board and affordable price point. At $649 for a queen-sized mattress on Amazon, you get a mattress that excelled on all our tests, scoring a 4 out of 5 or higher in crucial categories like cooling, edge support, and pressure relief.

At this point, I’ve had the pleasure of testing a handful of mattresses from Nectar, and the Classic memory foam model might be my favorite. As a hot sleeper, the first thing I noticed about the Nectar was its cool-to-the-touch top layer. During testing, I found that the Nectar did a great job of dispersing heat, and awarded it a 4.5 out of 5 in the cooling category.

I used a thermal gun to measure the surface temperature before and after lying on it for five minutes. During this test, I found that its temperature only increased by 5.4 degrees, which is remarkable for an all-foam mattress.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the Nectar Classic’s sturdy edge support. Memory foam mattresses typically struggle in this category due to their lack of innerspring coils to help reinforce the perimeter of the bed. Fortunately, the Nectar Classic is the exception.

I gave the Nectar Classic a 4 out of 5 for edge support because I was able to lie along the edge of the mattress for a prolonged period without feeling unstable or like I was going to fall off. However, I did notice more sinkage while sitting on the corners and sides of the mattress, which could present an issue for people with mobility issues who need a surface to bear down on in the morning or those who sit on the corner of the bed to tie their shoes.

The Nectar Classic’s reliable edge-to-edge support also contributed to solid pressure relief results. During testing, I found that it was soft yet supportive enough to relieve tension in both the back- and side-sleeping positions. For this reason, I gave it a 4 out of 5 for pressure relief across the board.

I found that the Nectar effectively cradled and cushioned my hips and shoulders as I lay on my side. On my back, I loved how it filled out my lower lumbar area. I also invited our chief medical product tester and licensed physical therapist, Dr. Joe Tedesco, to try the mattress and offer his opinion.

Dr. Tedesco, a back sleeper, found that the Nectar struck the perfect balance of comfort and support in this position. He also praised it for keeping his spine aligned in the side-sleeping position.

“After spending about five minutes on this mattress, I notice I’m incredibly supported,” said Dr. Tedesco. “I don’t feel like I’m sinking into it. It’s a firm foam feeling. This is a good mattress for people who need structure in a bed; so if you’re someone with loose ligaments and joint instabilities, you might feel some good orthopedic alignment.”

While the Nectar is an impressive mattress at its affordable price point, I wouldn’t recommend it to all sleepers. Sleepers who weigh over 230 pounds will likely say this mattress sinks too much. And despite the Nectar being fairly responsive for a memory foam mattress, combination sleepers may still find it more challenging to switch positions on. I would suggest that both these sleepers opt for a more supportive hybrid model instead.

For Amazon shoppers seeking a high-quality all-foam mattress, the Leesa Original often goes on sale for under $900, which is a steal. The Leesa is a top-tier pick, excelling in areas where most memory foam models tend to fall short. During testing, Erin Chiles awarded the Leesa mattress a 4 out of 5 or higher in edge support, cooling, and responsiveness.

One common complaint about memory foam mattresses is their lack of support around the perimeter. While these beds offer a soft, slow-sinking feel, it sometimes comes at the cost of consistent support. Fortunately, one highlight of the Leesa Original is its sturdy edge-to-edge support. While lying along the sides of the mattress, Erin noted the perimeter felt firm and secure, so she gave it an overall score of 4.4 out of 5 for edge support.

“The Leesa does an impressive job of maximizing usable space,” Erin said. “You can sleep near the edge of the mattress without feeling like you’re going to slide off.”

The Leesa Original also defied expectations in the responsiveness category. Erin gave it a perfect 5-star rating for responsiveness and praised how easy it was to shift positions, adjust her pillow, or get up without sinking or feeling stuck. This mobility is a massive triumph for combination sleepers or anyone who tends to toss and turn during the night.

“It was extremely easy to switch positions because the bed provides enough stability and firmness,” Erin said. “I never felt stuck.”

Perhaps the most impressive part of the Leesa Original is its ability to disperse heat. Memory foam isn’t known for being breathable, but the Leesa stayed surprisingly crisp during testing. It earned a perfect 5 out of 5 in cooling, thanks to its impressive performance on our thermal gun test. During this test, Erin used a thermal gun to measure its surface temperature before and after lying on it for five minutes and only saw a 3.8-degree increase, making it a strong pick for hot sleepers.

That said, the Leesa is not the best fit for every sleeper. At 10 inches tall, it may not provide adequate support for individuals over 230 pounds. And while Leesa offers a 100-night sleep trial, we think a longer trial would better suit the quality of the mattress.

If you are looking for a durable mattress that can support sleepers with bigger bodies, the Titan Plus Luxe by Brooklyn Bedding is a noteworthy model. This mattress was engineered to support sleepers 230 pounds or more, and does so beautifully, thanks to its heavy-duty construction, premium comfort layers, and a weight capacity of up to 1,000 pounds. During testing, mattress tester Sosha Lewis awarded the Plus Luxe 4 stars or more in back-sleeping pressure relief, motion isolation, and responsiveness.

An average-weight tester and certified sleep science coach, Sosha found the Titan Plus Luxe to be surprisingly comfortable while trying it out. She thought that the Luxe was supportive across all sleeping positions and felt most comfortable on her back, giving it a strong 4 out of 5 for back-sleeping pressure relief.

“I am a big fan of this bed for back sleeping,” Sosha said. “I felt the high-density memory foam absorbing my tension, and my spine was perfectly aligned. My shoulders and hips were also very balanced across.”

However, individuals under 130 pounds may not experience the same plush feel. Since this mattress is designed specifically for heavier frames, smaller sleepers will likely find it too firm to be pressure relieving.

The Titan Plus Luxe also achieved the rare feat of impressing our testers in motion isolation and responsiveness, two performance areas that typically cancel each other out. Sosha and her fellow mattress testers gave it perfect 5-out-of-5 scores in both, meaning you’ll be able to move around freely without disturbing your partner, which is a notable benefit for couples. 

Unfortunately, the Titan Plus Luxe’s only weak spot was edge support. Sosha noted a lack of firmness around the perimeter, especially when lying on her side. “The edges felt a little Jell-O-like,” she said.

Sosha gave the Luxe’s edge support a rating of 3.6 out of 5, which is only slightly above average. If you or your partner has mobility concerns, consider looking into a mattress with reinforced edges.

The DreamCloud is a well-balanced, high-quality hybrid mattress that stands out for its blend of comfort, support, and cooling performance at a competitive price point. During testing, it earned 4 out of 5 or higher in edge support, cooling, and back pressure relief.

Hybrid loyalists and hot sleepers alike love this type of mattress for its cooling abilities. The innerspring coils help the mattress disperse heat and facilitate airflow through the night. Meanwhile, the plush cover layers often contain cooling gel memory foam that gives hybrids a cool-to-the-touch feel. If cooling is a high priority for you, you’ll be pleased to know that the DreamCloud has both; in our tests, it performed exceptionally well, earning a 4.5 out of 5 in the cooling category.

“The cover felt cool-to-the-touch, and I couldn’t feel it heating up as I lay on the mattress,” said tester Riley Otis. “The gel-infused memory foam helps keep the overall temperature neutral.”

Riley also praised the reinforced perimeter of the DreamCloud, awarding it 4 stars for edge support. The DreamCloud’s sturdy edge support should make it easier for couples to spread out without feeling unsteady.

“While lying along the side of the DreamCloud, I felt steady and secure,” Riley reported. “There wasn’t too much sinkage.”

The DreamCloud also excelled with a perfect 5-out-of-5 rating for back-sleeping pressure relief. Riley appreciated how well it cradled her lumbar area without sagging, which is especially helpful for sleepers who experience tension in their lower backs.

We also brought in Dr. Joe Tedesco, our chief medical product tester and licensed physical therapist, to weigh in on the DreamCloud and offer a clinical perspective.

“Stomach sleepers and sleepers with back pain should fare well on this mattress,” Dr. Tedesco said. “It’s soft and cushioning around the hips when I’m on my back. I sink in just enough, but once I settle, I feel very supported.”

Unfortunately, side sleepers under 130 pounds may find the DreamCloud too firm, particularly around the shoulders and hips. Riley gave it a 3.5 out of 5 for side-sleeping pressure relief, so lighter guests or those with joint sensitivity might prefer a soft mattress instead.

The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex mattress is a perfect fit for back sleepers seeking a durable, American-made mattress at an affordable price. A 12-inch, queen-sized CopperFlex Memory Foam mattress currently costs $499 on Amazon, which is an amazing value. Mattress tester Sosha Lewis praised its cooling, edge support, and back-sleeping relief, awarding the CopperFlex Memory Foam a 4 out of 5 or higher in each category.

Shoppers often spend more money than needed in pursuit of obtaining the best cooling mattress possible. Fortunately, the CopperFlex doesn’t cut any corners in terms of materials, as it features copper-infused memory foam, which is known for its antimicrobial and moisture-wicking properties. Sosha noted that, despite not feeling particularly cool to the touch, the CopperFlex did an excellent job of regulating temperature and awarded it a 4.5 out of 5 in the cooling category.

Sosha used a thermal gun to measure the CopperFlex’s surface temperature before and after lying on it for five minutes. During this test, she found that the temperature increased by 5.6 degrees, which indicates exceptional cooling.

Sosha was also surprised at the CopperFlex’s performance in the edge support category. Memory foam mattresses aren’t exactly renowned for their robust edge support, and are more prone to sagging around the perimeter over time. However, the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex seems to be an exception, earning an impressive 4.2 out of 5 in this category.

While sitting, lying, and moving around on the sides of the mattresses, Sosha was impressed at how supported she felt during those tests. “The edge support in all three sleeping positions was excellent,” Sosha said. “I felt little to no sinkage in any position, and I felt extremely secure on my back and stomach due to the wider base. I didn’t feel like I was anywhere close to rolling off.”

The CopperFlex’s consistent support also lends itself to exceptional pressure relief for back sleepers. After lying on this mattress in every sleeping position, Sosha said that she felt supported and aligned on her back, thanks to its firm construction. For this reason, she gave it a 4.3 out of 5 for back-sleeping pressure relief.

“I thought this bed was more comfortable on my back than on my side,” Sosha said. “It provides an ‘on top’ of the bed feeling that keeps you aligned and takes pressure off of your lower lumbar spine. If you prefer a firm mattress, you will appreciate this bed in this position.”

That said, the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex is not the best fit for strict side sleepers and those under 130 pounds. Since this mattress is so firm (an 8 out of 10 on our firmness scale), these sleepers will not receive the pressure relief needed to mitigate aches and pains in pressure-prone areas, like the hips and shoulders.
